How earnings work now

Dropoud has moved away from a fixed per-view or per-download rate. Instead, every lecturer's content is tracked monthly by an engagement score (impressions) — how much students actually watch and interact with your videos.

We track impressions

Every view and engagement on your content is tracked throughout the month.

STEP 2

Company sets the pool

At month-end, Dropoud allocates a compensation pool to pay out all content owners for that month.

STEP 3

You get your share

Your payout = your share of total impressions for the month × the pool amount.

In simple terms: the percentage of total student impressions your content earns in a month is the percentage of that month's compensation pool you're paid. More demand for your videos means a bigger slice of the pool.

Monthly earning example

  • This month's compensation pool: ₦20,000,000 (set by Dropoud)
  • Total impressions across all lecturers this month: 10,000,000
  • Your content's impressions this month: 150,000

150,000 ÷ 10,000,000 = 1.5% of total impressions

1.5% × ₦20,000,000 = ₦300,000 that month

Illustrative example only — the pool amount is set by Dropoud monthly and actual earnings depend on your share of total impressions. As a guide, an average active creator with around 30 in-demand videos typically earns roughly ₦100,000–₦200,000 per month.

Withdrawals

Monitor your engagement score and earnings transparently from your dashboard on the Lecturers Web App, and withdraw your share of the monthly pool directly to your bank account once payouts are processed.
